Labour MEPs: Strasbourg Brexit vote must be wake-up call to Tories to get serious

The European Parliament today voted by a huge majority on a resolution on Brexit that says we need more progress on basic issues before moving to the next stage of negotiations. The resolution states that sufficient progress has not yet been made on major issues – including citizens’ rights, Ireland and Northern Ireland as well as the UK’s financial liabilities – to allow negotiators to move onto trade and the future relationship between the UK and EU. It's urgent to get back to the negotiating table. The Tories need to forget their internal divisions and get serious for once.
